It still strikes me like lightning.
Ripping into my fragile core,
Puncturing and pounding,
Leaving gravel like pieces.
Shrinking every ounce of faith inside of me,
Detoxing the drug that I grasp so tightly.
Release, indulge more,
Gulp it down, til the very last drop,
Inebriated, wallowing in maudlin.
